The Maxwell Ultra-Capacitor Project explored the use of ultra-capacitors for stabilizing solar power intermittency. Located at UC San Diego, the project evaluated the performance of ultra-capacitors in real-world grid applications, assessing their rapid charge-discharge capabilities and long lifespan. Findings contributed to understanding the feasibility of ultra-capacitors for renewable energy integration.
